Another business idea for making money on eBay is to buy wholesale lots right from eBay itself.
If you search on eBay for “wholesale lots” you'll find thousands of listings, (over 27,000 actually when I made this search):
Now that’s a lot of stock and inventory to choose from if you would like to get your eBay business started this way.
But why would people be selling wholesale lots on eBay instead of selling the goods individually themselves to make more profit?
Well that’s the million dollar question!
And you would be right in answering that it’s probably stuff they can’t sell.
But while this may be true in a lot of the cases, there are many legitimate opportunities to make money selling items from lots you purchase on eBay.
You just have to know which lots to buy. Of course this will mean lots of research.
First you need to research the types of goods offered in the lots and see if the items are good sellers on eBay.
And then you need to calculate whether you can make a profit off what you project you can sell the items for, minus the cost of the lot and shipping.
Shipping is a very big thing to be aware of, these are usually very heavy packages and shipping costs will eat up a lot of your profits, so you have to factor that in.
You also need to make sure you have the storage space to store all this stock once you receive it. If you need to rent storage space, that will definitely affect your profits too.
Now even though there are some negatives, many people buy wholesale lots on eBay and make a profit selling the items.
And one of the more popular types of lots that are purchased on Ebay are children’s clothing – especially Gymboree.
