Business Idea
Niche Job Listings Website

A niche market is actually a small portion of a larger market and when it comes to employment, there are groups of jobs that are not necessarily addressed by mainstream providers.

So you could start a job-listing site for jobs of a related field such as hospitality, airlines, hotels, construction, etc.

This makes the task of choosing a job easier for aspiring applicants.

You could even find more specialized or obscure fields, perhaps something in the film industry or underwater construction – whatever you might have an interest in or be knowledgeable about.

This is a great home based business idea that does not require much investment, and could provide you with great returns.

The main investment you will need for this business idea would be a computer and a website for your job listings. You could either create the job-listing page by yourself or hire a web designer to do it for you.

You would earn income from the website by charging the job seekers a subscription fee either monthly or for a set time like perhaps six months.

Be sure to keep the fee reasonable, say $10.00 a month or $50.00 for six months to make it affordable for the job seeker.

You can also charge the employers for advertising their job openings on your website, but this may not be the best idea unless it's a niche job market where employees are hard to find and your website offers a valuable service to the employer.

Once you start a job listing website for a niche market, you will want to include job listings for any type of job even faintly connected to the niche market.

Along with the job listings, you also want to mention the requirements of the employers, the pay the employer offers to the candidate and dates of any deadlines for application and submission of resumes.

Besides providing just job listings, you could also provide a service of creating online resumes for the job seeker.

This service could of course be offered as a bonus along with a higher subscription rate.

Many people need help with creating portfolios because of lack of command of the English language; so if you offer this service, this would add more appeal and value to your site and attract more people who would be willing to pay for a subscription.

You could also offer some informative material on the website that will prove to be of benefit to the job seeker.

You could add some interview tips, some practice questions for the seeker to try out, examples of your resumes and career planning advice.

You could also offer some information on related educational courses, seminars, etc. It would also be a good idea to report any new developments in the industry you are covering and any related news items too.

You would want to list the job openings by state, and that would also be a good way to find the openings, checking each state's online job service websites.

You could also research the major employers in the field you have chosen and contact them to find out about new postings for employment.

Some example niche job listings websites for you to browse are: HospitalityOnline.com and HotelRestaurantJobs.com.
