How To Make Money With
A Website - Part 3

In part 3 of this article series on How to Make Money with a Website, we’ll explore 4 more ideas for making money on the internet.

7. Ebay and Amazon Partner Networks. Earning income with eBay and Amazon is another form of affiliate marketing, but since they are so huge I decided it deserved a category all its own.

The great thing about partnering with eBay to earn affiliate income is that you earn income on a portion of the sellers fees collected from completed auctions that you referred the winner to.

And you can also receive a commission from people signing up to become members of eBay if they buy something on eBay within a certain time frame.

And eBay is a great affiliate partner if your website niche happens to target something to do with antiques and/or vintage goods, or information for collectors.

You have a place to direct them to find these collectibles, whereas the majority of affiliate programs are for new information and products.

Now Amazon has books on practically every topic on the face of the earth.

Including some relevant titles on some of your website pages not only adds some colorful graphics to liven up your website, but gives your visitors access to more quality information that they may be looking for.

And then if your visitor clicks on one of your Amazon links and purchases that book or anything else from the Amazon website within a certain time frame, you receive a commission on all their purchases.

8. Comparison & Review Sites. This is another way of earning affiliate revenue.

And it’s a great way to build an online business if you are an expert in some area, say digital cameras and photography, or perhaps building a home theater.

Using the example of building a home theater, you would build your website with lots of quality content and information about building a home theater,

You would include instructions and how to information, and then add relevant reviews and recommendations of home theater equipment, seating, movies, etc.

You would use affiliate links to shopping sites that had these recommended products, or even shopping comparison sites with affiliate programs so shoppers could find the best deal on your recommended product, and then you would receive a commission when they made a purchase.

9. Artists Co-ops & Online Galleries. Perhaps you have heard of Etsy, but if you haven’t go ahead and check it out now.

This is an example of an online gallery that showcases handcrafted goods by artisans from many different arts and crafts disciplines.

Etsy provides an online presence for these crafters to promote and sell their wares from, and Etsy collects a small fee or commission on the sales.

And there are many variations on this theme on the internet.

Perhaps you are an expert in a certain type of craft and have a network of craftsman that you have a relationship with.

You could build a website that would provide an artist co-op of sorts where you and your friends could showcase their goods for sale.

You would charge a small commission on the sales because you are providing and managing the site.

Or you could do the same thing with a gallery type of website, either showcasing different artists work or some type of similar niche, earning income either from referral fees for commissioned work, or commission fees for sales of works featured in your online gallery.

10. Offline Sales, Fees, Coupons, Discounts. When you are thinking of how to make money with a website, you don’t have to limit yourself to only money actually coming to you through the website.

You can use your online business to drive offline income into your business too.

Perhaps you are a local dentist, accountant, contractor or restaurant who would like to build up your clientele.

Well you can use traditional forms of advertising to do this, but the internet is becoming a local trend, and one of the best ways to use your advertising budget is to have a presence on the internet.

People are doing more and more of their shopping and services by finding businesses on the internet.

So it's a great idea to have a good website that showcases your business and services and provides lot of great “get to know me” information.

Then people will become familiar with you before they even meet you, and this will put you miles ahead of any traditional advertising or telephone directory listing.

And you can use your website to advertise promotions to help build your business without having to invest in the cost ongoing traditional advertising.

You can provide coupons, discounts, weekly menus and specials, etc., and easily change them on your website whenever you want at no cost to you.

And in the case of a service provider such as a dentist, accountant, or contractor, you can add lots of relevant articles and information that help your clients and potential clients manage their health, finances and home maintenance better.

This gives you added credibility and positions you as the friendly local expert and authority in your area of expertise.

This of course will translate into income when visitors to your website need to have their taxes done, their teeth cleaned, or their bathroom remodeled.

Learning how to make money with a website is not that difficult if you have a great foundation – your valuable piece of real estate on the internet, to build on.

And I hope this article has shown you many of the ways that websites do make money, and answered your questions as to how to go about using these money making models in your online business.
