Stay Focused & Beat Computer Fatigue - Part 2

stay focused

One of the most important things a surgeon does before he or she prepares for surgery is to drink plenty of water. Why?

Because they know that keeping their brain hydrated is crucial for successful performance in the operating room.

Remember your basic science class in high school? You may remember learning that brain tissue is 85% water.

Since our brains are mostly water they need to remain hydrated in order to function at optimum levels.

Lack of water can cause some real problems not only with focus and productivity, but with continued dehydration the level of energy generated in the brain is decreased.

Depression can be a result of dehydration, it also affects our ability to handle stress. Eating excessive amounts of sugar, salt or protein also requires more water for the body to process, leaving less for the brain.

Some of the symptoms of dehydration are thirst, dry mouth, lethargy and MENTAL CONFUSION!

So how do you know you're getting enough water?

A properly hydrated person urinates about 5-6 times per day. If urination is only once or twice a day, you may be dehydrated and need more water.

A simple solution to this is to take that 10 minute hourly break as mentioned previously and drink a glass of water, or just keep a glass of water or water bottle at your desk and sip periodically.

Now if you really want to use this tip effectively make sure you are drinking clean, energized water.

Think for a moment about a flowing, pristine clear mountain stream and imagine how amazing the water would taste, and how much life energy it would contain.

Now compare this to the water that comes out of your faucet.

This is water that has been chemically treated and has been moving through old pipes in straight lines instead of in a natural curving flow such as in nature.

This is basically dead water, devoid of much in the way of providing optimum hydration for your body and brain.

But it's not that hard to bump up the quality and energy level of your water.

You don't have to invest in expensive water filtration equipment and energy enhancing devices.

First make sure your water is clean.

The majority of municipal water systems in the US provide a basic level of clean water, but there is always some level of bacteria present and you will probably have to put up with a high amount of chlorination in order to make the water safe.

I know the water in my small town gets a big chlorine zap periodically making it taste awful.improve-concentration

Letting water sit in an open container for awhile will usually cause most of the chlorine to dissipate.

But if you would prefer not to have any toxic chemicals or bacteria in your water then consider getting some kind of water filtration system.

I pay $23.00 per month for a reverse osmosis system from Culligan. Installation was simple and they maintain the system with yearly check-ups. They installed an extra faucet at my sink and it's easy to get a drink of clean water whenever I want.

There are plenty of other water filter options for filtering water too, from whole house systems to water filter pitchers that you fill from your tap.stay-focused

Another tip is to add a pinch of salt to each glass of water to restore electrolytes and minerals.

This helps give your brain and body more energy. But don't use regular table salt. You need a good quality non-iodized sea salt and the best salt of all to use is pure Himalayan Crystal Salt.

And if you want to bump up the energy levels of the water a simple bag of $15.00 Twilight America Precious Prill Beads will do the trick.

And Prill beads also make your water "wetter" meaning it's surface tension becomes smaller and is more easily absorbed by your cells.

This means that you can drink less water to stay hydrated.

So if you find it hard to drink as much water as you need in a day, Prill water will go twice as far in keeping you hydrated as regular water.increase-productivity

I drink it everyday, it's simple to make, just add your bag of Prill Beads to a gallon glass jar or sun tea jar of water along with a few shakes of your Himalayan Crystal Salt.

Now for practically pennies you have energy enhanced, life giving water.

This will definitely go a long way in increasing your ability to stay focused and productive as you work.

Now if you're a bit skeptical about the Prill Beads let me just say that I was too.

So I decided to test the water on some hanging baskets that I had on my porch last summer. They would dry out so fast, especially in our drought conditions last summer that daily and sometimes twice daily watering was essential.

I used Prill water on one of the baskets and regular tap water on the other two.

It was quite amazing really, the two non-Prill baskets would be dry daily and need watering, but the Prill basket would still be moist for two or three days before needing to be watered again.

And I noticed the plants in the Prill basket were very robust looking throughout the summer with very healthy looking color and shape.

So if you are finding it hard to stay focused while you are working on your new business, I'll hope you'll take the advice in this article to heart.

Drinking water to keep your brain hydrated is so easy and so important, head for the kitchen right now and fill yourself up a glass!
